Boulet family will drop the puck for organ donation

February 20, 2019

Toby, Bernie and Mariko Boulet will drop the puck at the Lethbridge Hurricanes game on Friday, February 22, 2019 to promote organ donation.

Their son, and brother Logan, was one of 16 dead after the tragic Humboldt Broncos bus crash in April of 2018.

Logan's decision to be an organ donor has inspired over 100,000 Canadians to do the same. His impact has been named 'The Logan Boulet Effect'.

The Lethbridge Hurricanes will promote the impact in the series “RE/MAX presents: WHL suits up with Don Cherry to promote organ donation.”

The Boulet family will wear special jerseys when dropping the puck, and the Hurricanes players will too. The specially crafted jerseys will be auctioned off online in support of the Kidney Foundation of Canada's Southern Alberta chapter.

“It is a privilege to gather for this historic game to honour Logan,” says Joyce Van Deurzen, Executive Director, Kidney Foundation (Southern Alberta & Saskatchewan).

“He will be in our hearts as we stand with the Boulets to advance the cause of organ donation. We are deeply grateful for their courage in the face of such a profound loss.”

Organizers are encouraging fans to dress up in their best Don Cherry outfit for Friday's game. Tickets can be purchased online (http://bit.ly/canessuitup,) by phone (403.329.SEAT) or at the ENMAX Centre box office.
