Coaldale Bakery sells out on National Doughnut Day

May 6, 2020

The Coaldale Bakery sold over 1,200 donuts this morning for National Donut Day. The bakery says they’ve been keeping busy, even during the pandemic.

"We know so many of our customers by name. They'll come in and we know exactly what they like to order. They'll come in before work for their coffee and their donut before they head off to work," says Coaldale Bakery employee, Marietta Van Middelcoop.

National Doughnut Day is a day of appreciation of Salvation Army volunteers who distributed doughnuts to servicemen during World War I.
