Coalhurst plans 'Together Apart' Canada Day celebration

June 23, 2020

This is a rare time in our lifetime that Canada Day festivities have been cancelled. With COVID-19, that goes for most summer events. Even though they have been forced to cancel their Canada Day celebrations, the town of Coalhurst has still found a way for residents to get excited about the holiday.

"(It's called) 'Together Apart', basically asking residents to decorate their homes red and white as much as possible — show their Canada pride. We're still out there, we're still proud to be Canadians. We will get through this together," says Coalhurst Chief Administration officer, Kim Hauta.

The winner of the contest will receive a free a Canadian flag.
