Internationalizing campuses adds worldwide perspectives in classrooms, says Lethbridge College Manager of International Services

The diverse cultural side of Lethbridge came out today in full flavour and dress at Lethbridge College.  Bridging Cultures is an annual on-campus gathering of cultures featuring live music, dancers, cultural displays and international food selections.

“We bring in various performers and exhibitors from within the community.” says Manager of International Services, Catherine Wilde. “Our culinary department, where all the food is prepared by the students from various different cultures.”

The college has over 500 students attending this semester on international study visas, representing from over 75 countries around the globe.  One student who moved to Lethbridge from Burkina Faso says she chose Lethbridge College to better her english skills and study to become a nurse.  Another student from India who hopes to start a trucking company in Canada says “Everyone is friendly here, every time.  You can ask anything you want or need, everything is available here.”

The event was led by students from India, Nigeria and Kenya all the way to the college’s first ever student from Tajikistan.
