Council gives the green light to off-highway vehicles on county roads

July 4, 2019

Lethbridge County Council has adopted a bylaw to allow off-highway vehicles (OHV) to be used on highways.

Lethbridge County council today gave the green light to off-highway vehicles being permitted on County roads. The bylaw, which passed in a 4-2 vote,  allows vehicles such as dirt-bikes and quads to be operated on municipal roads. Reeve for Lethbridge County, Lorne Hickey says it is long overdue to legalize the operation of OHV's on county roads.

Off-highway vehicles are not permitted to travel within Hamlets and Subdivisions, unless the driver obtains a waiver from the County.
