COVID Long Haulers say that recovery numbers are skewed

September 22, 2020

More than 126,000 Canadians have recovered from COVID-19. Common symptoms are fever, cough, and shortness of breath. Many people who have recovered say they continue to feel debilitating symptoms. One group is calling the COVID Long Haulers. They are urging the federal government to keep track of people who continue to suffer, instead of labeling them as recovered.

"The government has dropped the ball and they need to sort of regroup, and follow this cohort of people because this could become potentially a long term economic battle when there's many...thousands of people. We're already almost 4,000 people and I just started the group a couple months ago," says Suzie Goulding, Founder of the Facebook group Covid Long Haulers Support Group Canada.
