The Chuckegg Creek blaze, however, remains about three kilometres away from the community as firefighters take measures to prevent it from getting closer.
Flammable material near homes such as patio furniture is being removed from yards.
Crews have also used a contained burn to create barriers to prevent the 92-thousand-hectare wildfire from spreading.
Meanwhile, about five-thousand people remain out of their homes and High Level Mayor Crystal McAteer says residents won't be returning anytime soon. Yukon government officials report large parts of their territory are now experiencing smoke from the blaze. Firefighters from other provinces including 21 from Nova Scotia are on their way to High Level to help battle the blazes.
