CTF Alberta Director Terrazzano says UCP health care cuts are a good start

October 13, 2020

The Canadian Taxpayer's Federation is supporting Alberta Health Minister Tyler Shandro's efforts to create $600M in health care savings. The province would cut up to 11,000 jobs through outsourcing, attrition and reductions in management.

CTF Alberta Director, Franco Terrazzano, says today's announcement is a good first step to make our province's health care system more efficient. Terrazzano says Alberta could save $3.6 billion if its per person health care spending was in line with BC, Ontario and Quebec. He says Alberta spends more per person on health care than every other province except for Newfoundland and Labrador.
