Earthquake hits Central Alberta

March 4, 2019

An earthquake shook Alberta early Monday morning.

Federal government agency, Earthquakes Canada, says the 4.6-magnitude quake was “widely felt” in Red Deer and Sylvan Lake at 5:55 a.m.

Earthquakes Canada says the seismic activity happened four kilometres southwest of Red Deer and is the highest-magnitude quake in the region's recorded history.
