The Trader Days fundraiser happens this Saturday night from 6 - 9 p.m. with tickets being sold for $25 each. All proceeds go to the fort to help with their annual operating costs. This will be the second year for this event.
"There's nothing like it around here, so we're very excited to put this on," says Chris Roedler, Volunteer and Resource Development Coordinator at Galt Museum.
The event will feature musket and cannon firing, a bonfire, a bison chili dinner, and a Metis fiddler who Roedler says will get everyone up out of their seats dancing. There will also be a cash bar, whiskey tasting and prizes throughout the evening.
Tickets are available at both the Galt Museum and Fort Whoop Up as well as on their respective websites.
Additionally this Sunday, on Father's Day, there will be special activities for dads and their kids that include horseshoe tossing, a buffalo chip frisbee competition and balloon shaving.
