'Food for All' theme, inspires young artists to think about hunger issues

July 11, 2019

For the third year in a row the Lethbridge Interfaith Food Bank has conducted a school art competition with local high school students.

The contest allows students a chance to express what they think the world would look like if there were enough food available for everyone.

"We were looking to inspire youth to think about what it means to have enough food or not have enough food, and get then inspired about how they can give or how they can contribute to hunger issues in their community," says Executive Director, Danielle McIntyre.

Three students walked away with cash prizes. First place winner in the high school category is Ashley Hopkinson from Chinook High School; first place in the Junior High category is Aaron DeSilva from St. Francis; and first place over all went to Avorie Henderson also from St. Francis.
