Future plans for Lethbridge Airport unveiled

May 21, 2019

A 20-year revitalization plan for the 40-year old Lethbridge Airport includes an upgraded terminal, increased parking capacity, and extended runways.

City administration presented to the Community Issues Committee (CIC) today an overview of suggested upgrades and recommendations in the Lethbridge Airport Master Plan. The goal of the master plan, which was presented by consultants WSP Engineering was to find cost-effective solutions for upgrades in the short, medium and long-term.

The total estimated cost of implementing all recommendations is more than $35 million dollars.  Many of the expenses are eligible for federal, provincial and municipal grants.

The CIC voted to refer the Master Plan to City Council for approval at their upcoming May 27 meeting.
