Three decades, and over 150 volunteers a year have kept the Interfaith Food bank alive and well in Lethbridge.
Danielle McIntyre has been the organization's executive director for 13 years, and she’s seen everything from expansions to big ticket donations. McIntyre says her favourite part has been the relationships she’s developed, while witnessing concrete changes in the lives of clients.
"Some of the people that I've met, when they first came, started accessing emergency food assistance and then we saw them get involved with our community kitchen programs, and some of them are volunteering and even working with us today."
The Food Bank averages 1500 people every month, and requires 70,000 pounds of food each month to serve local families in need.
