Lethbridge Soaring Club hopes to reach new heights with membership

April 30, 2019

If you’re looking to pick up a new hobby, you might want to check out a sport that’s reaching new heights...literally. The Lethbridge Soaring Club will have their simulator on hand at the Lethbridge Public Library Crossings Branch on Wednesday, May 1 at 6:30 p.m. All are welcome to the information session. Any one from age 12 and up can learn to fly.

With May being the month of Sexual Violence Awareness, Lethbridge College brought in a speaker from Edmonton to educate the Sexual Violence Action Committee on ways to support victims of workplace harassment.

"Really, we just need to start from a place of believing people who come fourth with allegations of sexual harassment—it's the first step. When we act with disbelief, we make people feel unsupported, and unwilling to share more about what happened," says Sexual Violence Prevention educator Derek Warick

According to Canadian Business, 43 percent of women and 12 percent of men say they have been harassed at work.
