Lethbridge Bisons end season at Little League World Series in California

July 31, 2019

From Team Lethbridge Bisons, to Team Alberta, to Team Canada...It was a great run for our Lethbridge AAA U13 Bisons.

We caught up with the team's head coach, Denny Puszkar over the phone from Livermore, California. He says he couldn't be more proud of his boys and that the past three weeks have been a whirlwind. He also commented that his team received lots of compliments on their discipline and character while they've been on the road.

The team won the Alberta title then competed in the Nationals in Langley BC, where they won the Team Canada title on July 25th. From there, they headed to Livermore, California for the Little League World Series where they played Puerto Rico and were beaten 14-2 on Sunday. They beat the Czech Republic 6-4 in extra innings on Tuesday. Unfortunately they were eliminated on Wednesday when they lost to Mexico 9-0.

The team is still in California and plans to play a few exhibition games, then do some sight seeing before returning home to Lethbridge on Monday.
