Monthly sessions will be hosted by the Lethbridge Chamber of Commerce, City of Lethbridge, Lethbridge Police and the Downtown Business Revitalization Zone. The new project is addressing the need identified by businesses to have more information on how they can improve safety of their businesses/organizations. BRZ executive director Ted Stilson is happy that city council has met their demands.
" We brought those concerns...to city council and to the Police Commission and we feel that they...heard us and they've taken action, appropriate action and they've put together a good strategy moving forward. I think the business community is optimistic about 2019 and beyond with all the things the City of Lethbridge has put together to address the drug crisis."
The seminars will be held monthly, and each time law enforcement will address a new safety concern. About 60 businesses were in attendance for its first session.
