In the first six months of 2018, seventeen people in Lethbridge died of an apparent opioid overdose. Since opening, the supervised consumption site has treated nearly 75 thousand clients. There have been no recorded deaths at the site. Many business owners and residents have expressed their concerns over the drug crisis in our city.
