Lethbridge Hurricanes v. Calgary Hitmen Round 1 playoff preview

March 22, 2019

The Lethbridge Hurricanes are gearing up to take on the Calgary Hitmen for game one in the first round of the playoffs, tonight.

The Lethbridge Hurricanes walked into the ENMAX centre this morning with fresh haircuts, and some with their hair bleached– all signs that playoff hockey is about to begin. The Hurricanes opponent is the Calgary Hitmen, who they have defeated in 5 of 6 match ups this season.

"Anytime you can have a winning record against a team you're (playing) in the playoffs is massive. I think we know what we've got to do and think our record shows that and we've just got to keep playing the way I know we can play and I think we'll be fine," says defenseman Kalen Addison.

Much of the Canes success in the regular season can be attributed to head coach, Brent Kisio who became the first Lethbridge Hurricanes head coach to tally more than forty wins in three separate seasons.

The 2018-19 season is only the 7th time ever the Canes have reached 40-win mark.
