Lethbridge man assaulted on own property

Lethbridge Police have charged a 32-year-old woman in connection with the assault of a senior citizen.

On July 3, 2019 at approximately 4:50 p.m. a 64-year-old male was in the front yard of his home along Dieppe Boulevard South moving the sprinkler when an unknown female began yelling and approached him. The female continued to yell at the male and he advised he was going to call 911. As he proceeded to make the call and brought the phone up to his ear, the female struck him in the face with an unknown object. The female left the area and entered a home down the block. Police and EMS attended and located the male bleeding profusely with significant injuries to his face. The male was admitted to hospital with a badly broken nose and cheekbone. He remains in hospital in critical but stable condition.

Police attended the home the victim saw the female enter and she was arrested without incident.

The victim and accused are not known to one another.

Ashlee Brooke Pederson, 32, of Lethbridge, is charged with assault causing bodily harm. Pederson is currently in custody awaiting a Judicial Interim Release hearing.
