Lethbridge Tim Hortons hands out free PPE

June 9, 2020

The province wants to make sure Albertans have easy access to personal protective equipment while out in public. That’s why they’re making non-medical masks extremely accessible.

Pretty much everywhere in Alberta there's a Tim Hortons on every corner. While you make your morning coffee run, or while at various A&W and McDonalds locations, you can pick up some free face masks for you and your family, courtesy of the provincial government.

"A lot of people certainly need them as the phases open social distancing. We are and you are going to be in situations where you can social distance — you go to the mall, you go to the park," says Tim Hortons franchisee, Dave Lawlor.

You can only get the masks by using the drive-thru, in order to avoid too many people inside the store.
