Locals 'build into' El Salvador

March 9, 2019

Two Lethbridge home-building companies travelled to El Salvador with a team of Canadians to build houses for the needy.

Gerrot Bezooyen, owner of Bezooyen Contracting, joined his colleague from Ashcroft Homes who has traveled with Shelter Canada for four consecutive years.

The Canadian crew has returned after spending a week in the foreign nation building 20 homes for families in need.

"We kind of get to know who we are working for and building for," he explains.

"Those same families work with us all week as we build these homes."

The trip, facilitated by Shelter Canada, a non-profit group who oversees hundreds of trips of the same nature.

Shelter Canada is based out of Central Alberta.
