LPS only police service in Canada chosen for special program

October 8, 2020

Members of the Lethbridge Police Service will be participating in a new initiative called ABLE, or Active Bystandership for Law Enforcement.

The purpose of the program is to teach all staff how to intervene in a situation out in the field or in the workplace. The program is also described as a strategic and tactical way for officers to prevent misconduct and reduce mistakes with training.

The Lethbridge Police Service was the only Canadian police service in Canada to be chosen for the program.
