National Indigenous Peoples Day is on June 21 and to celebrate this occasion, there is an entire week of activities and events planned in the city of Lethbridge. The Galt museum hosted an inaugural event this afternoon.
"There is a lot of work. The schools are involved, different organizations such as Interfaith Food Bank, we here at the Galt Museum...Fort Whoop Up down below, the city planners of Galt Gardens. There's so much that goes into it," says the Galt Museum & Archives Cultural Interpreter, Blanche Bruideshead
Thirteen Indigenous and Metis events will run throughout the city in June 25.
