Resilient cystic fibrosis fighter has lessons to offer, and we're listening

As a child growing up in Taber, Marten DeVlieger learned early that his chances to lead a long life were slim.

When he was just two weeks old, he had been diagnosed with cystic fibrosis. CF is a chronic and frequently fatal genetic disease of the body's lungs and digestive system. It is estimated that one in 36 hundred kids born in Canada have CF and the average lifespan is only 18 to 20 years of age.
