David and Collet Stephan have returned to the courthouse for case management hearings in preparation for their retrial in June. The couple were charged and convicted for failing to provide the necessaries of life for their 19-month old son, Ezekiel who died of meningitis in 2012. During the original trial, they received worldwide criticism for their anti-vaccine views. Many media outlets suggested that had Ezekiel been vaccinated, he would have survived. Court documents and interviews with David and Collet show that vaccination was not what the case was about.
