Taber Golfer represented at Jr. Golf Nationals

July 29, 2019

The Canadian Junior Girls National Golf Championship kicks off tomorrow in Lethbridge.

It's Alanna Makarchuk's first time competing at the Junior Girls National Golf Championship, and she's lucky enough to be teeing off on home turf. She says that the Taber Golf Club has become a little bit of a fan club.

"Our ladies league and mens league are all super pumped that I've made it this far. Some of them are closely tracking my scores. It's been great going back to the golf course and hearing everyone's support."

Last years winner Celeste Dao is from Montreal, and says that this tournament will be her first in Alberta.

"I really like it. (the course) is similar to Arizona. It's pretty weather, and good forecast for the rest of the week, so I'm pretty excited to spend my week here."

The competition will begin July 30, at 6:15 A.M MT
