Time for some spring cleaning? Volunteers come out to Chinook Regional Hospital for annual Spring Clean Up

April 26, 2019

Several Lethbridge area residents armed with rakes, shovels and gloves arrived at Chinook Regional Hospital Friday to take part in the annual Spring Clean up. The next clean up is scheduled for May 3. The effort is part of the Outdoor Beautification Project, a partnership between Alberta Health Services and community groups wishing to invest in their local health facility.

With May being the month of Sexual Violence Awareness, Lethbridge College brought in a speaker from Edmonton to educate the Sexual Violence Action Committee on ways to support victims of workplace harassment.

"Really, we just need to start from a place of believing people who come fourth with allegations of sexual harassment—it's the first step. When we act with disbelief, we make people feel unsupported, and unwilling to share more about what happened," says Sexual Violence Prevention educator Derek Warick

According to Canadian Business, 43 percent of women and 12 percent of men say they have been harassed at work.
