Tonight is the 'coldest night of the year'

February 23, 2019

One hundred and eighty-eight walkers will hit the streets tonight, with flurries and a low of -25°C, to raise awareness for homelessness.

Streets Alive Mission hosts the annual Coldest Night of the Year event, with a financial goal this year of $60, 000.

80% of their goal has been met, with more funds expected to trickle in as the event begins.

The group has fought poverty in Lethbridge since the 90s, by meeting the holistic needs of those battling addiction.

This year's Coldest Night of the Year is being hosted at the Evangelical Free Church of Lethbridge on Highway 4.

Participants will register at 4 p.m. and walk down 24th Ave and back on a rotating circuit.
