Travel industry hit with new COVID-19 restrictions from Canadian Government

January 6, 2021

The Trudeau government recently announced new COVID-19 sanctions on Canadians. It means that travellers returning to Canada have to have a negative COVID test before being allowed to board a flight back. Here in Lethbridge, Tracy Hamilton, the Owner of Inspired Vacations says the new rules from the Liberals were thrown on the travel agency, with little to no warning.

There is a mandatory 14 day quarantine when travellers return to Canada. If the isolation plans aren’t up to government standards, travellers could be forced to quarantine in a federal facility.

The new rules go into effect January 7.
