Two women charged with armed robbery

Lethbridge Police have charged two women in connection with the armed robbery of a cab driver.

At around 7:40am on November 11th police say they were called to a Tim Hortons parking lot on Mildred Dobbs Boulevard where they attended to an injured male. The 68 year old man said he was assaulted at knife-point by two females and then his taxi was stolen. The women assaulted the driver then took his cash, tablet and cell phone. The driver was treated by EMS for non-life-threatening injuries. The stolen cab was found unoccupied along the 2000 block of 13th Avenue North. The two suspects were rounded up. The stolen items were also recovered by police. Thirty one year old Kimberlie Rose Eagle Speaker and 38 year old Jessica Mae Eagle Speaker, both of Lethbridge, face charges of robbery, uttering threats, theft of a vehicle and possession of a dangerous weapon. Kimberlie Rose will appear in court on November 13th and Jessica Mae on November 18th.
