U of L achieves highest ever position in Maclean’s University Rankings

October 9, 2020

The University of Lethbridge achieved its highest-ever position in the annual Maclean’s University Rankings Report. The University ranked second in Canada in the primarily undergraduate classification. Staff and students say a big part of the recognition comes from strong student engagement, and the undergraduate experience.

"To see it's still consistently high, especially in times like this when...in the times of COVID-19 when students now more than ever need those services. I think it's really great to see that we're still providing a lot for our students that's being recognized by the larger community," says U of L Student Union President, Jonathan Diaz.

"One of the things that sets our institution apart and which we're seeing in the rankings is really this pairing of a desire and a commitment to create a great student experience, with the focus on research which is unique to undergraduate universities," adds Vice Provost, Michelle Helstein.

The U of L ranked fifth in the same category last year.
