U of L makes masks mandatory starting Aug 10

July 31, 2020

Beginning August 10, the University of Lethbridge will require people to wear masks in indoor public spaces on its Lethbridge campus.

U of L students, staff, faculty and visitors to campus will need to wear a mask in campus areas such as hallways, washrooms and elevators. Masks will also be required outdoors when physical distancing cannot be maintained.

Staff will not be required to wear a mask in their office unless it is in an area located facing the public.

Mask wearing will also apply to summer camps on campus.

PPE will be purchased by the U of L for faculty and students to wear for the fall semester. Additionally, those living in campus residences will also be provided with masks. Students in residence buildings are required to wear a mask when they are not in their unit, or in a space where physical distancing is not possible.

While the school waits for its shipment of masks, students and staff are required to bring their own.

The rules regarding masks apply to the U of L’s Lethbridge campus only. The Calgary campus, located at Bow Valley College will remain remote.
