U of L names interim Women's Soccer Coach

September 25, 2020

Last week, the U of L Pronghorns head and assistant women's soccer coaches were let go. The news comes after it was discovered that the team was suspended because of a breach in COVID-19 sport cohorts. It was announced Thursday that Lethbridge College women's soccer head coach, Sean Carey will be the interim head coach for the Pronghorns. Carey says he’s hoping to make 2020 as stress free as possible for the girls.

"They still have to keep up with all of their academic criteria to be playing soccer so, I think being able to get them on the field, get them touching the ball around teammates...have a bit of a fun thing — just have a release and forget about some of the stresses for a while," says Carey.

The U of L Pronghorns say they plan on completing a "comprehensive" search for new coaches.
