Workshop for kids to fight back “the real pandemic” - child abduction

September 11, 2020

Third degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt, Mixed Martial Arts fighter, and owner of Canadian Martial Arts Centre in Lethbridge, Lee Mein is hosting a free abduction prevention workshop for children aged 4 and up.

Increased news coverage that has brought the subjects of pedophilia, child trafficking, and abduction to the forefront has fuelled Mein’s reasons for hosting the workshop. “I just think it’s horrific, and we’ve got to do something about it.” He goes on further to say “we need to educate ourselves - it’s the real pandemic.”

Mein says the workshop which is scheduled to take place on September 18 sold out within an hour of it being advertised.  He is looking to schedule repeat sessions of the seminar for those that are not able to attend this one.

Lethbridge Police Service reported August 31, 2020, near the 100 block of Mic Mac Boulevard, a 13-year-old boy was approached by an unknown male who attempted to lure him into a vehicle, offering candy. The boy declined and the male left the area.
